National Commissions for UNESCO

What are National Commissions?

National Commissions are composed of members of the intellectual and scientific communities in each Member State of UNESCO and form a vital link between these communities and UNESCO. Besides their own activities, National Commissions participate in the elaboration, execution and evaluation of UNESCO's programmes. UNESCO's Secretariat at Headquarters and in the Field Offices maintain interactive relations with National Commissions.

The Secretariat works closely with National Commissions in assuring UNESCO's follow-up to MINEDAF VII.
