Functions of Intergovernmental Committee

• to monitor follow up to the implementation of the commitments of the Durban Conference
• to provide advice and support to the President and Secretariat of MINEDAF VII
• to approve the provisional Programme of Work of MINEDAF VII
• to serve as a link with the wider group of African Ministers of Education

• to facilitate the active participation of their Ministers of Education in meetings and other initiatives of the Intergovernmental Committee

• to provide a Secretariat for MINEDAF VII
• to provide support services for meetings of the Intergovernmental Committee or for special consultations of African Ministers of Education concerned with MINEDAF VII follow-up actions (such as, secretarial support, preparation and circulation of relevant documents, translation and interpretation services, etc.)
