Professor Sibusiso Bengu, Head of South Africa's Diplomatic Mission in Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany. Former Minister of Education of South Africa. Former President of Intergovernmental Committee, MINEDAF VII.

Place and Date of Birth: Kranskop Mission Station, Kwazulu Natal, May 8, 1934

Marital status: Married to Ethel Funeka Msizi, with four daughters and a son

Matriculation at Entumeni
1964: B.A. degree at the University of Zululand; Majors: English and History
1966: B.A. Honours in History at the University of South Africa
1974: Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Geneva, Switzerland

1952:
Teacher at Entumeni Primary School
1964- 1966: Programme Editor for the Radio Voice of Gospel, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
1966: Lecturer at Umpumulo and Eshowe Teachers'Training Colleges;
1969-1976: Founding Principal of the Dlangezwa High School
1977: Appointed Professor at the University of Zululand and serves as Director of Student Advisory Services
1978-1991: Executive Secretary for Research and Social Action, Lutheran World Federation, Geneva
1991: Appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Fort Hare
1994 –1999: Minister of Education of SouthAfrica
